28 households have access to the pump, but also the men from the military base (which is close by) make use of it. This pump has opening hours between 5:00 - 8:00 am/ 12:00 - 14:00 pm/ and between 16:00 - 20:00 pm. They have late opening hours to accomodate for the military base, whose members contribute to the maintenance of the pump.

The committee consists of 6 women: 1 president, 1 secretary, 1 sub-secretary, 1 key holder, 1 treasurer and 1 vice-president. Their role is maintenance, cleaning, keeping the adidy in place and making sure that everybody pays. Each household is obliged to pay 100 ariary per month. They had 2150 ariary in their cash register, but they bought soap to clean the pump, so now they have 2000 ariary left. In the beginning, the army men paid a lot more money but now they pay the same fee as the villagers.

For the committee members they see the impact of the pump as a great contribution to their happiness. They don’t have to worry about their children drinking polluted water anymore. They don’t have diarrhea any longer. The pump has been repaired once and contributes to fihavanana because we all use and clean it together.
